<aside> 📚 Used Figma and Google Jamboard to create a prototype of an app that allows UWaterloo students to find study buddies and tutors for their courses.

After interviewing several university students, we found that a common pain point for them was finding other students in their classes to study with and cultivate relationships, as well as finding people who've already taken those classes for tutoring services. Since the University of Waterloo is so large, finding peers can be a challenge especially when you're a first year student.
Study Studio is an app designed for students to connect with others in their classes to create study groups, find study buddies, and find potential tutors and mentors in their programs. Students create a profile, add the classes they've taken, and can search and filter through a large database of students to connect with.

Watch this video explaining our solution:
To get an idea of some issues university students face, we conducted primary research and reached out to some university students to hear their perspective. We found that many of them had trouble finding study buddies and developing a learning community with their peers.
Once we had an idea of the type of app we wanted to create, we started coming up with features. I worked with my teammates to create wireframes and brainstorm ideas for the way the app would look. We used Google Jamboard since the hackathon was held virtually.
